I bought a 2023 CMC Canyon AT4 in January of 2024. I had a good experience from the dealership. That truck was rear ended and it was totaled. I wanted the same truck because i liked my Canyon. I identified the new truck online and made arrangements to hold it to purchase. The finance department was very helpful with getting me the best finance deal available. When I was ready to receive the truck to drive off the lot, it was the first time I saw the truck. That was my fault for not verifying what I was purchasing. The truck did not have the rhino spray bed lining and the sunroof, which is what I wanted with the truck. As I stated, my fault for not reading all the details for the truck. When waiting for the truck, it would not start and they found the battery dead. It was replaced before driving off the lot. Four days later, the battery was dead again. I was able to make arrangements through GM Roadside Assistance to get the truck back to the dealership. The service department put me in another truck while they worked on mine to determine the cause of the battery being drained. Currently the truck has been at the dealership for 10 days with the dealer working with the manufacturer to troubleshoot the issue. I have been treated well, but concerned about the truck reliability based upon my recent encounter and history of the this vehicle with multiple types of failures with the transmission, engine, brake, and electrical. I would have thought GM would have resolved these issues considering there are number of incidences out there to where I actually received an attorney letter for the lemon law for the GMC Canyon itself. I love the truck. Just want it to be reliable and not regret my decision.
